Noble Houses

While the church has the final say on everything going on in the empire, they do not hold all the power. The economy is instead controlled by noble families which have amassed enough power and good standing with the church to be considered a Noble House, or Great House. Great houses may have a number of lesser noble families as vassals which are then considered minor houses.
