House Kaladriel
Seriously, drown that Kaladriel woman. She's brought us nothing but trouble.House Kaladriel is one of the more powerful noble houses in Ponton. Being a mostly mercantile house, they focus on the importing of goods to Ponton from other cantons. They are also the elected leaders of the local merchants guild, overseeing most of the commerce in Ponton. Recently, it has been revealed that they were apparently highly corrupt, selling favours in the guild to other houses. Additionally it turns out they have ordered a hit on a competitor of theirs, house Viennen.
Structure
House Kaladriel is currently under the command of Hanalla Kaladriel, the eldest daughter of the patriarch @Juna Kaladriel(person. While he is still officially the man in command, he has grown senile and has appointed more and more duties to his eldest daughter. She has also taken a more public leading role in the brewing conflict that has recently arisen. By now she leads her house in all but name. It is presumed that, if house Kaladriel survives the current strife, that Hanalla will officially take over as matriarch.
Culture
House Kaladriel main belief is that it is a noble's right to extend their influence and power as far as it will go. There are also a strong belief in fate, that all men have a plan laid out for them. These core beliefs expand into the idea that one's place in the world is deserved no matter the method taken to arrive there.
Public Agenda
House Kaladriel is notorious for making flowery promises and statements, which end up being mostly empty, doing the bare minimum to not find themselves entirely disgraced. As their guild leader statement they claim to protect buyers and merchants, crack down on the black market, and fairly represent all merchant houses in the Principality of Commerce.
History
House Kaladriel's origins are murky and uncertain. As they are not an old house, they, as many before them, keep their heritage largely secretive, only presenting the past 4 generations of Kaladriel's proudly. As such it is often rightly assumed that house Kaladriel's founder was a Frese which somehow obtained noble status. Since their investigation early Delaris this year it has become common to say their founder conned and bribed his way into nobility. The likelihood that this more than a joke is however unsettling to many.
Disbandment
It is possible that house Kaladriel will not survive much longer. With a decisively blow dealt to them and most of their allies, it is unlikely that they will attain the same status as they had before, even if they manage to survive these troubling times.
