House Dravisiel

The Dragon is faster than the wind. You'd do well to keep out of trouble with them.
— Gard, lancer under house Roikshien
House Dravisiel is one of the Sorenel Twelve, marking it as one of the most powerful and influential houses in the empire. However, even without such backing, the dragon is one of the most publicly recognisable royal houses due to its near monopoly on transportation technology. This monopoly derived originally from an exclusive contract to provide river barges to the church of ascension, but has since evolved into a symbiotic relationship with the Principality of Transportation. Their symbol is that of a wyvern grasping a sphere in its claws. They are one of the two houses behind the Dragon Chain Rush.

Structure

The family is headed by the patriarch of the main family, which is currently Straph Dravisiel. While Straph is in direct control of the Dravisiel family business, he is not one to micromanage. The majority of their business is administered and conducted by their branch families or vassals. The house is also in close cooperation with the Church, and are therein seen as a branch of the Principality of Transportation. This gives them equal rights to other branches, but are nonetheless subject to the leading powers.

Public Agenda

House Dravisiel's public agenda focuses on two main goals. The first is to provide efficient affordable transportation throughout the empire. The second is to strive for progress and innovation. Their motivation for setting up the Dragon Chain Rush however is not explained by these public statements of agenda.

Assets

Dravisiel, its extended family, and vassals have ownership of over 65% of the mechanised vehicles in the empire. Almost the entirety of all locomotives are owned by their house directly. The railways themselves were also under their command until they were requisitioned by the church. Now the stations and tracks, while administered and maintained by Dravisiel is no longer their property.
While Dravisiel prefers to focus is currently on overland transport and the development of aero-crafts, they still own a large number of river barges which were historically the primary method of transportation within the empire. Many Sea-faring ships, while never being their speciality, are nonetheless under the house command.
