Kuzad-Nikar
Dwarven Kingdom of the Frostspine Mountains
The Frostspine Mountains are home to the dwarven kingdom of Kuzad-Nikar which is ruled by the dwarves of Clan Frostbeard and inhabited by dwarves of this clan and several other clans that serve them. These mountains also inhabit several frost giant settlements that constantly war with the dwarves of Kuzad-Nikar. The conflict between the dwarves of Kuzad-Nikar has been ongoing for hundreds of years with no end in sight. Kuzad-Nikar is ruled by King Thurik Frostbeard.
While the war with the frost giants can make trade difficult, merchants will travel to the Frostspine mountainhomes for two main goods; weapons make of whitesteel and alcohol made from frostroot. As far as anyone is aware, both whitesteel and frostroot can only be found in the Frostspine mountains, so goods made from them can only come from the mountainhomes of Kuzad-Nikar. Whitesteel can be made into weapons and armor that takes divine enchantment quite easily, but it is also incredibly difficult to smelt and forge. Only the most skilled dwarven smiths can work it. Frostroot is a tuber plant that grows in the rough terrain and cold climate of the Frostspine Mountains and can be brewed into strong alcohol with an incredibly unique flavor.
Structure
Kuzad-Nikar is ruled by a king who is generally also the head of Clan Frostbeard. The heir to the kingdom is usually the king's firstborn son or firstborn daughter in the case there is no son.
There are several clans in Kuzad-Nikar other than Clan Frostbeard and generally the heads of these other clans serve as advisors to the king and usually serve on his council.
