Dyson Sphere AL-7

A large, incomplete precursor Dyson Sphere that was under construction in the ZQ-43D galaxy, hiding roughly half of the star's light.

This Dyson sphere was found an incomplete, damaged state by the HF almost 1 billion years after construction began. The Xadia Ancients had to stop work on the structure at the dawn of the Starsong incident, and no one was left to resume the construction. The Hyperion Federation cannot easily resume the project because they do not have the technology, though the already built structural frames could make such a construction effort easier. It has also been slightly damaged by the passage of time and many kinds of objects colliding with the structure, but this exotic material that it was built out of is extremely strong and withstood almost all damage.

Though the Xadian technology is too advanced for the HF to understand or make use of, the state of the structure does give them an insight on how the Xadia constructs megastructures like this. They would dismantle it partially to recover some advanced precursor archaeotech, but the materials that comprise it are very strong which makes the entire structure difficult to study beyond a surface level.

The Dyson sphere features a number of sectors, or large regions each with different properties. Some are more complete than others, ranging from just pure framework to almost full gardens that can support a small population. The strut zone is the largest region established by the HSA, and it consists of almost entirely framework and is the largest region of the structure. The struts is large enough to fit a gas giant planet on it with ease and is visible from orbit. This is a dangerous area to move to, as few supporting rails exist currently and the mere presence of the solar rays can disintegrate someone that gets into direct contact with them. It could easily make most species go blind if they accidentally look at a part of the structure that reflects a lot of solar rays into their eye.

Another region is known as the Forest. This area spans several kilometers in radius and supports a small town roughly at its center with the help of some HF technologies. This place has a large density of life, and many large trees are seen as well as several species of small animals. The center of the region houses a large tower, part of the megastructure, which directs a small amount of light from the sun onto the surface to simulate a day/night cycle and is efficiently self-contained so that water and other matter is recycled. It is sometimes thought that this is the optimal environment for the ancient Xadia to live in as it was constructed by them, or perhaps the Xadian society was a multispecies one. Perhaps the Forest was originally going to be a research or scientific site, seeing its small scale. Xadian engineering is highly elusive to all modern factions.
