Arkalan System

Star system of the Beosus galaxy, and is thus comprised entirely of antimatter.

The Arkalan system is the home system of the antimatter Harkas species, which remains just as good at bioengineering as those under the Hyperion Federation. They can even communicate to regular harki (plural term for harkas) with their hive mind.

The Arkalan system takes up a very similar structure as the Beta Targos System, though it has not yet been explored by the HF yet and in fact is mostly shrouded in mystery. As such, Binary Targos remains the only known cyber sphere outside of the Unreachable Star Cluster. However, they have plans to explore the entire Beosus galaxy and this system will be mapped completely. One fact they dont know is that sometimes, albeit rarely, antimatter Leviathan Troznux might appear in the system. These were highly dangerous to any space creatures near them due to the gravitational pull and sheer energy demand. It took the harki thousands of years to find out about the Gwell microbiome inhabiting these massive creatures, and some groups have even purposed leviathans into immense bioships designed to carry a large number of harki as well as immense volumes of ammunition. These bioships still have gwell populations within them, and the groups looking to convert these leviathans into bioships would have to maintain good relations with the gwell otherwise they could start a significant uprising, especially with their significant numbers advantage..

The antimatter organisms of this system have proven to capture the curiosity of the HF, especially their harki, though they can already determine almost everything about them with what they know already, and the properties of antimatter. Both sides are highly fascinated by, though fear the other. However, the harki under the HF do have a significant advantage in this regard, as they have a massive science and industrial complex in the form of the HF, which covers several galaxies, as opposed to the antimatter harki who control only part of a single galaxy. This power disparity gives the HF harki much more advanced purposed organisms that they can use, and the antimatter harki are only now beginning to experiment with antimatter annihilation energy, by storing regular matter rather than antimatter and annihilating it with (their) conventional fuel. This has created a number of differences between them technologically.

A number of antimatter-equivalents of purposed organisms are known by the HF. This includes several of their bioships as well as most other integral organisms which play vital roles, so it is presumed that they have an antimatter equivalent of most regular harkas purposed organisms. They also have a number of organisms meant to help them deal and interact with leviathans.

Much like the Beosus galaxy in general, the origins of the Arkalan system are also unknown. It is thought that the Xadia Ancients fabricated the system for the harki that now inhabit it, probably for similar reasons as the regular harkas and their Beta Targos system, of the Arkan galaxy.
