Garzilles

A planet in the Aurigae System.   Garzilles is very close to its parent star. Furthermore, because the star is a class A star, this planet is extremely hot. Not as hot as Jenilop, the first planet, but there are many pools and oceans of lava on Garzilles. The Phelke Commonwealth did extract ore from Garzilles, though. Much of the surface is solid ground unlike Jenilop. The planet was rich in various valuable metal ores.   The planet was still dangerous however. Geologists constantly assisted the miners there for safety reasons; the planet featured many active volcanoes and very geologically active. After an earthquake, ore is often moved up from the mantle to the crust, so a similar area could be mined multiple times.   Garzilles also has 2 moons. These are large enough to impact the tides of the planet. This caused the lava level to rise and fall periodically as well as several powerful earthquakes.   Despite very advanced HF heat channeling technologies, thousands of miners have died on Garzilles. Most of these were phelke because the mines were established before the phelke had access to HF technology, and therefore no QEN. Monuments to these accidents have been built in orbit, because they could be destroyed on the ground. However, the sheer number of rsources that have been extracted from the planet, and continue to refresh on the surface, means that it is far too valuable to ignore. There is a tradition where one day each year the miners would visit the orbital monuments to pay respect to these miners. Those leading the operation also see it as a way to teach the miners about important safety protocols and what could happen if they are ignored. Most metal elements can be extracted from this planet, but the planet is mostly rich in common metals such as iron that is commonly used on a very wide scale. The mining operation used to be powered through fusion reactors until they obtained HF technology, at which point they made heavy use of antimatter and Planck-Dismantlement Beams to generate power.
