Twin Gods

Long ago, before the wilds of Verdath could fight back, legends tell of the twins of the forest and their fierce wolf companion. They would protect nature and drive back goblins, beasts, and people who seeked to destroy their home. They lived peacefully with the wilds, always treating the earth fairly - in exchange, it provided.   Mother Isha sent her best to claim this territory. The Calderai, who used divine magic and their natural attunement not to help the wilds, but terraform and even destroy them. The Calderai burned and twisted nature to allow for civilizations to be built, and only the siblings could stand against them. For years the fight dragged, and it seemed as though the trio would be defeated.   Something happened, though, during this battle. Some say Mother Isha, grieving and merciful for the slaughter wrought by her own, anointed them with divinity. Others claim the Earth itself, awakened by their bond and strength, chose them as her champions. What rose nonetheless were no longer mortals.   The Blight and The Carrion Hunter were born somehow deep in the Verdathi wilds. The three fought back, and with the power of gods of nature, destroyed the Calderai - leaving none spared. Their expanse and anger left unchecked quickly began swallowing the land. As it stands now, the entirety of Verdath is consumed by the Twin Gods, and without intervention, they are destined to continue their expanse. It is unknown if this is the true intentions of the gods, but intentional or not, they now continue their growth, sparing not a soul or territory in their sight.
Verdath does not pray to the gods - it survives them.
