Strongale Hall

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Strongale Hall is the golden-lit, raucous dominion of Vergadain, dwarven god of wealth, chance, and well-placed wit tucked within the winding depts of the Dwarvish Mountain.   This is no mere tavern, it is a sanctuary of risk, a temple to fortune, and a vault of indulgence. Coin flows like river water, and ale like molten gold. Here, the most daring wagers in the multiverse are struck, and the price of ambition is measured in far more than platinum.

Geography

The halls of Strongale are a constant festival. Braziers line the cavern walls, casting golden light on tapestries and gleaming fixtures. Carved stone columns depict scenes of legendary gambles, some won with guile, others lost with pride. Music never ceases, and the aroma of rich pipe smoke and spiced mead fills the air.

Notable Locations

Strongale Hall
The Hall is famed not just for its drink, but for its games, vault-houses of chance where fortunes are made, shattered, or transformed. Here, one may stake anything of value, even the intangible.   The Stakes are Beyond Gold, as visitors have been known to wager memories, magical prowess, personal virtues, names, and even metaphysical qualities like courage or loyalty.   The laws of wagers are enforced by Vergadain’s very essence, once a deal is struck in his realm, it must be honored. Those who renege face fates worse than death… often dealt with a smile and a toast.

Inhabitants

Strongale Hall teems with dwarven spirits bound to Vergadain’s service, who are cheerful, cunning, and ever-ready to make a deal. Mortals who find themselves here are treated based on their wit, charm, and willingness to risk. Fools are robbed politely. The wise are often recruited.   There are often merchant envoys, as many traders and plane-walkers come to Strongale seeking luck, favor, or rare items found nowhere else. But few leave with what they expected. and in addition, Strongale Hall’s echoes seem to stretch beyond its stone, drawing gamblers from distant realms who wake up with no memory of how they got there — only a coin marked with Vergadain’s sigil.
