Customs and Law
Share bread, water, and a name at a workbench or wayhouse; all sides owe hospitality and frank speech until next bell. Vows are carved, woven, or pegged; within an oath-circle, malice falters and resolve holds. Disputes try craft, accounts, or gentle arms first—measure cut to cut, ledger to ledger, bow to bow. Victory obliges uplift: a lesson, tool, or safe-conduct. In Midrun, on tram-ways, two ropes must agree to carry the third’s load; lone risk-taking is fined or cut. Crane decks, cairn-lines, and rope-walks are inviolate; spite there frays lines until amends are made.Geography
Two worlds face each other across a single sky: Dothion, the crafted peace of orchards and workshops, and Shurrock, the proving wild of ridges, quarries, and stormpaths. Together they embody the Theran principle of Reciprocity, good work done for others returns as fair weather, sound timbers, and helping hands at the needed hour. Here bridges hold because neighbors do, and shortcuts that harm the commons unravel as surely as rotten rope.
