Ebonshire
A home for a large community of catfolk. Built around a temple to patron deity Obsidia and is the place where her teachings are championed and people from all walks of life learn to live and fight with her blessings.
Ebonshire is a bustling, medium-sized town nestled in a lush valley surrounded by towering pine-covered hills. Its cobblestone streets are typically alive with activity and it is notable for being a community where catfolk are the majority demographic as far as species of its denizens are concerned. At the heart of Ebonshire stands the The Obsidian Monestary, an imposing structure of black stone and crimson banners dedicated to the war goddess Obsidia. The monastery is both a spiritual sanctuary and a martial training center. Its architecture is angular and commanding, with tall spires that resemble the points of swords piercing the sky. Stained-glass windows depict Obsidia in her feline-inspired war goddess form, her eyes glowing with divine fury, wielding a massive obsidian blade. The monks of the Obsidian Monastery follow a strict code that balances meditation, physical training, and devotion to Obsidia. They believe war is not chaos but an art form that demands discipline and honor, lest warriors be nothing more than bloodletting butchers devoid of purpose or morals. The catfolk population of Ebonshire value loyalty, craftsmanship, and martial prowess. Festivals celebrating Obsidia are common, featuring ritual duels, parades of warriors in ceremonial armor, and feasts filled with spiced meats and sweet pastries shaped like claws. The townsfolk maintain a strong sense of camaraderie, the teachings and participation of the monestary in the community creating a close-knit and cooperative culture.
