World Codex

Credited to Yunan, a secretive author or perhaps a ghostwriter believed to go by this pseudonym. Nobody knows what they look like, or even their species, nationality, gender, or the like. They left a compiled copy of journals, diagrams, paintings, and scripts in the hands of an archive without a trace. Their works would gain favor for their detail and the retellings included inside. Several scriveners would work to rewrite and adapt Yunan's workings into a series of atlas that are still the most popular literature of their kind even today.
"If you're reading this, you are making the world better. Wonderful job! Inside these pages are tales of my journey through this wonderful world, as well as my father's and his father before him. And what a wonder it has been! By learning something new about the world around you, you'll learn something about our story, all of our story, you, me, and all of us. A person only learns in two ways, one by reading and the other by associating with others and doing something new. So after you're done reading, do a humble stranger a favor and go take a look at the world for yourself."
- Excerpt written on the preamble of the original copy of the Atlas.
