Fabrication and 3D Printing Technology

Standard 3D Printing technology was a staple in Kaishi development for machinery parts and infrastructure pieces. Building construction using the technology was theoretically more efficient but due to the enormous amount of time required to build larger and more complex structures from even the best CAD printers, it was never popularized. The invention of the 3rd generation CA-C3DP Printers (later renamed Fabricators) brought revolutionary improvements to Autonomous Robot Construction (ARC) and Freeform Construction (FC) systems.
Advanced 3D Printing involved these industrial-grade Fabricators. They could make everyday products and parts in mere seconds with 99.999% material efficiency. Unlike the previous CAD machines, Fabricators are capable of constructing a single 900 Square-foot floor in 2 hours regardless of design complexity. Furnishings for these floors are also done simultaneously to maintain cost-effectiveness. Once The Federation began plans to travel to space these Fabricators were further improved to be capable of complex electronic wiring and preprogramming. Due to the number of resources required for their usage, industrial-grade fabricators never saw commercial use and are limited to autonomous factories. The technology was eventually simplified and commercialized for the everyday use of citizens across all colonies.
High-End Fabricators were the first ones produced by retail juggernauts and can fit comfortably in any home. As long as it is provided with the right materials it is capable of printing anything necessary that the consumer demands. Some more complex products are patented and these fabricators are forbidden from replicating them under the Fabrication Piracy Law. A consumer may choose to subscribe to a certain blueprint that will allow them to print these patented products, every time they wish to produce them a small fee is reduced from their '3DP-Wallet'. The network in which these blueprints are held is highly secured and is constantly monitored by either the companies that submit them or are protected by hired white-hats. Some of the things it is capable of producing include apparel, shoes, food (such as instant ramen), power tools, household machines (like a coffee maker), Bikes, and many more with access to the right blueprints. These are not affordable for everyone and are only purchased as a luxury items for those in the upper-wealth divisions.   Low-End Fabricators are the best friends of the more impoverished independent companies and are the first choice for the citizens on the frontier planets such as Jana. These Fabricators are bulky, heavy, janky, and require at least two Portable Tri-Cores or a working Tri-Core Battery. These are not wired to the network which possesses an abundance of blueprints and each individual patent must be downloaded directly to its drive. It is not capable of complex wiring non-native to any default blueprints it has downloaded. Depending on the build quality of these versions they may be unable to fabricate anything that requires a large amount of non-viscous liquid. Their more positive features include being a tenth of the price.
