Magic
A tiny spark of control, for those who would take it...
Magic, known by many different names for many different years, is nonetheless a representation of a single concept; the ability for living beings to improve upon themselves and become gods. As life becomes more acclimated to magic, it also becomes more acclimated to godhood, empowering it and giving it increased control over its immediate environment. At a certain threshold, the god-to-be is plucked from their home universe by their patron Deity and ascends to the rank of Voyager.
Of course, this entire system means something completely different to the many magical people that are just trying to live their lives.
Magic binds itself by a strict set of rules and conditions. The many witches across the Mythic Maw discovered fifteen different magical "ranks" in ascending order of power and control over their environment, defining the Hierarchy of the Occult as the central power structure of the universe itself. They then theorized about how magic could be used, separating magic users into two different types of Flow and two different types of Role.

In each article, magic will always be referred to as "magic," "magical," "magically," etc. (Outdated articles may also use the word "supernatural" as an adjective.) However, in each individual story, characters may refer to magic in any number of ways. Magic has been known by many names across many times periods and languages— it is only for the sake of inter-article consistency that this unified term is being used.
