Firearms

One of the core components of Cosán an'Eolaíochta firearms come in many varieties including pocket-sized "handguns" with relatively low effective range and power for self defense, medium ranged "shotguns" with a wide array of uses and power depending on ammunition, longer ranged rifles for hunting and combat, and heavy artillery for battlefield use. All firearms are lethal (even the weakest "handgun"), granting the relatively weak "pure" Cinn Thógtha the ability to combat the far more powerful inhabitants of the other four nations - provided their machine servants can block their advance.

Utility

Firearms are weapons, first and foremost. Be it defending oneself, hunting game, or warring with others a firearm is meant for one thing - to kill. The only question is what kind of power do you need to take down your current target?

Manufacturing

Every firearm is a marvel of engineering and chemistry. Even archaic ammunition uses explosive chemicals to hurl the projectile at the target with more penetrative power of any crossbow, much less the modern ammunition which comes in a variety of uses and forms. However, the intricate moving parts of the weapons frame has to be made up of materials which can withstand the high-powered explosion within its chamber while also being well-tuned enough to be reliable and accurate - not to mentioned the ability to perform maintenance. With these in mind, manufacturing is a complicated process best left to specialized workshops and factories.
Access & Availability
Originally firearms, like all other aspects of Cosán an'Eolaíochta, were exclusive to Aontas na'Aireagáin of Tír Tionscail: The Megapolis and even if a few did get out the production methods couldn't be easily replicated by the other four nations. Over time, however, as people immigrated to An'Croílár: The Heartland Na'Comhrialtas and even Ríocht na'Draíocht were able to seize and modify the technology for their own uses as one of the more impact aspects of magitek.
Complexity
Though not as complex as their mechanical servants, the firearms of Cinn Thógtha contain many intricate parts and if the wrong one is damaged the entire firearm can cease to fire or even backfire and explode.
