Terror of Hytheron
The Terror of Hytheron was a three month long conflict between the Order of Balance and the necromantic cult the Seekers of the Eternal Hour that lead to an outbreak of undead, and the eventual destruction of the city.
The Conflict
Outcome
- Many people who had escaped Hytheron or had been away during the conflict now found themselves without a home. Thousands of refugees seeked help at Endris but were denied.
- While there was already a distrust of mages, people after the event truly hated magic and those who used it.
- A weakened Acaron, which led to the Northern Rebellion.
- William Gray-Horn suffered mental trauma from the event. He later set a kill-on-sight policy for mages.
Aftermath
A decade later thousands of refugees remained helpless.
The destruction of Hytheron formed Lake Purity.
Stronger relationship between the Order and Acaron.
Historical Significance
Legacy
Some people viewed the event as a coming of dark times and the first of many bad things to come in the future. Others saw it as a moment of Reus interacting with mortals, and teaching yet another lesson through punishmen.
