Aura is noted as having a sharper face and pointy ears that are indicative of Elves. He had the stark almond-shaped green eyes that would be passed down to each of his descendants. His hair is described as strawberry blonde and kept at varying lengths throughout his life.

What little is known about Aura Rylin's history comes from legends passed down within the Rylin family and recorded in the Chronicles of Auralon Rylin.

Early Life

He is believed to have been among the first Elves that were created in Rillan Aur in the 1st year of the Age of Light. He later traveled down the Encalcir River and was recorded as one of the charter members of Mauribon in the 111th year.

The Establishment of House Rylin

"When the storm swallowed the river and the Elves lost their path, Aura alone stepped forward. His eyes flashed green, and from the churning water he drew forth a stone that glowed like captured starlight. With its light, he guided his kin to safety. Thus, Mauri named him Rylin, Water of the River.

The stone he raised was the first waterstone, and in it the Elves learned that the waters of the world held gifts yet unseen. To this day, all waterstones shine because they recall the hand that first lifted them, and the boldness that turned chaos into a path home."

This is the tale that has been passed down about the origin of the name Rylin. He is historically credited as the patriarch of House Rylin, having married Miriel Rylin and fathered several children, thereby establishing one of the oldest families in history.

Cleric of the Maiden

Aura is later recorded as the first Cleric of the Maiden, taking the role and helping Mauri explore the caverns of the Limestone cliffs north of Mauribon, in what would later become the Reflecting Pools of Mauribon.

Battle of the Blood Moon

Aura played a major role in one of the first battles, still leading the burgeoning noble house through its first conflict. began, the population had grown to the point that the region around Mauribon could no longer sustain it, so many of the Elven Houses had moved their people out into the rest of the valley, establishing lands that would later form the territorial boundaries of the age of expansion. House Rylin was one of the exceptions, as Aura was content with continuing his service to the Maiden and staying in Mauribon. This had the unintended consequence of bringing House Rylin into conflict with House Tomder, who sought to achieve dominance of the city.

During the first phase of the conflict, Tan Tomder sought to use its influence to gain political control. Still, Aura and Severin's combined coalition was more than sufficient to block any political maneuverings. The second phase of the conflict saw Aura accused of embezzling from the Maiden to benefit his own family, which drew a great deal of frustration from the Elf. However, Aura Rylin had spent centuries building a reputation for being honorable, which quelled many of the rumors.

With political subterfuge ineffective, House Tomder turned to battle to claim the city. Aura began traveling with the Rylin Houseguard, a group of 10 elite warriors, some of the best in the city. After sunset on March 21st, 1,217 House Tomder sent 100 Elves to assassinate Aura while he was working in the Reflecting Pools. Aura fought off the initial assault, while the Rylin guardsmen barricaded the main tunnel against it. This allowed the group to survive until the rest of House Rylin's and House Sneha's forces reinforced them, ending the battle.

Aura had a massive influence on the world of Eldux. His offspring, who would formulate House Rylin, would go on to lead the Elves through the War for the Balance, the Agrader Raids, and crucially, the Great Storm.

None of his equipment or symbols has survived to the modern day, but the last piece of advice he left to his son has been remembered as the Rylin Family Motto.
