Personal history
Geoth III was the fourteenth king of Ferraria, coronated after his father, Acanth I , died. Geoth was much more bloodthirsty than his father, and was eager to take revenge on Ferraria's enemies. Despite the work his father had done to create peace, Geoth saw the need for more war. He had the collaborators who had been imprisoned after the Republian occupation executed during his coronation, and led his father's army to war on multiple fronts.
He relaunched the ancient war against the Changelings of Ormantella, as well as organising mass expeditions into the unclaimed lands to south, settling large swathes of new land. Piracy had become a major issue in the Sea of Glass, so Geoth established three major ports in the Archipelago.
Geoth's reign was also a period of major technological revolution. Seeking new weapons to contest with the magic-users of the world, Geoth had six major colleges built around Lake Yekar and instituted a state scholarship program to bring in the greatest minds in the land to work for him. These colleges would later move away from pure weapon production and into other fields, which led to revolutions in the iron industry, and the discovery of better techniques for the creation of steel.
Steel weapons soon became more abundant than iron, as did steel hull boats and steel paddles and steel wagon wheels. Steel became a huge fad in Ferraria, and mass production became more popular in most factories to cope with the demand. The economy was once again booming after almost half a decade of decline.
Geoth III died of a fever at the age of 55, and was succeeded by his son, Geoth IV. Geoth was his only son, born by his Geoth III's wife Geae Branuk.
