Personal history
Ferran II was the fifth king of Ferraria after he forced his brother, Vikud I, to abdicate in a power play. As the son of Atitus I, Ferran II was next in line to the throne after Vikud. Ferran II spent much of his time fighting Changelings on the island of Ormantella.
The power play was organised by the chief advisor, Sror Branuk, who saw Vikud I as a weak man who would likely lose a war should Republia invade. However, Ferran turned out to be more bellicose than his father, declaring open war on the magic beings of Ormantella. Thousands of soldiers died during the crusades on the islands, and the border regions of Ferraria were frequently raided by various factions from beyond the borders. However, the wars on Ormantella led to reform in the army and the formation of a proper navy. By the end of his reign, Ferran II had conquered much of the north-east of Ormantella and had established a series of forts there.
Ferran II married Alis Qrorce, the first cousin of the Lord of Sapphire. She often bickered with his brother's wife Urmin Qhace, especially after Vikud was dethroned. Alis bore Ferran four sons and a daughter. All but one of her sons would become king at some stage in their life, while her daughter would produce the line of sons that would eventually control the throne completely.
Ferran II died at sea during his return from an unsuccessful campaign on Ormantella. His son Nilom I took the throne after his death.
Ferran II was named after his grandfather Ferran the Miner, the first King and founder of Ferraria.
