Keal Julk Vet Halok

Julk Vet Halok was a distinguished Ferrarian general from Halacat. His family, the Vet Haloks, had traditionally been excluded from the Ferrarian upper nobility due to the relative poverty of their island. However, during the reign of King Acanth II, the Vet Haloks and the Vet Nuus became important colonial families, as their islands were mostly spared by the plague that ravaged the kingdom during the early reign of Acanth. The Vet Haloks provided governors for the new colonies of the empire, and so became important direct links between the monarchy and their colonies.   At the start of the War of the Dragon, Julk was in Quentar at the colony in Maraness. He gathered troops and sailed back to Ferraria before the winter weather could set in. His attack on Kinpanec led to the early capitulation of Argenholm. Julk proceeded to raze the province and, with only a small body of troops, managed to elude open battle and defeat the Qrorce army.   Julk returned to the camp of Pulus, who placed him in command of the east flank. Julk then split his own forces further into two in order to pincer the Qhace forces. Julk later fought at the Sacking of Deybria, losing an eye during the battle but successfully routing the rebel army. His troops relinked up with Prince Durwn and fought during the Battle of Ferran's Hold.   After the war, Julk was rewarded with the title of Lord of the Eastern Isles, the first new greater lordship for nearly a century. Julk was also granted a large amount of cash and support from some of the guilds of Shir. Qamron Oboror was also sent as a ward to Julk to teach him the ways of war and strategy.   Julk was assassinated in 452 by the guilds of Shir, who then proceeded to takeover the Eastern Isles.
