Blue Harvest
Overview
Though Mari Rezal l was influential in Firewall, her relatively high profile former life in the research community limited her ability to be truly effective in the Sol System. She saw Eridani as her responsibility and opportunity. allowing her to move as a Proxy would among the cells, without her renown getting in the way. She was impressed with Raige and together they built a cell to run operations deep in the system, looking out at the myriad of gates in the system for threats, and inward, for she was sure that history was repeating, and our largest threat was germinating in our own core. Mephit was her answer to that, and she kept them separate from her other interests in Lima Server in Sol, preferring that Mephit be her own arm, though she funnelled resources from her other cells as need be. Raige was very selective in her recruits for this reason- she wanted them loyal to the Cell more than Firewall as a whole, and loyal to the aims of uncovering the subversive elements connected in the research community in Prospect. There were hints that Rezal has another cell operating in-system, but that information, if true, Raige kept close to her chest. But in the end, there was too much for one cell to handle, and Raige started recruiting for the Blue Harvest cell- the result of carefully laid plans in the area. Mephit would be a level of indirection for Rezal, allowing her to use this new cell in a different manner that her enemies and allies wouldn't expect.Blue Harvest is not a full-strength cell, and indeed is in a very unique, if precarious position. Raige and Mari look to recruit from outside the organization to bring it to full strength, having people that are relatively unknown within Firewall and thus lacking the political attachments that many might have. It's difficult starting a cell in this manner, so it has been operating understrength since its inception. As a general directive, the members of the cell are to stay close to Prospect Station unless directed elsewhere, becoming a part of the station's community, making themselves known there and making contacts, with a primary goal of keeping tabs on traffic and cargo coming in to the station. Though it hasn't been said, there is a feeling that some information has made it known that this is an important area for something to come. Exactly what hasn't been revealed. As a secondary goal, they are to keep prepared to respond to exterior threats- when they were brought in, it was to investigate alien worlds for x-risks- to be come gatecrashers. But they are not at the strength to take on that mission yet. So Raige uses them on other ops in the meantime, leaving them to their own devices most of the time, but tasking them out as needed. In the months since they've been on station, they've run a few ops - mostly courier or scouting runs. Those tasks have made them worthy of having their own ship tasked to the cell.
