Mari Rezal
Mari Rezal is a reknown researcher in the fields of robotics and nanotech, and was leader of one of the teams researching the original Pandora Gate, on loan from Eikonometrics, one of the leading nanotech hypercorps in Nanosys. After the formation of the Emporia corporation, she dropped off the radar, moving into more theoretical technologies. In the scientific community it was well known that she had lost her drive after the Pandora gate, and she'd been seen at more than one conference on the origins of the gate- delving into the ethics and philosophical ramifications of the use of the Pandora gate and the others that had begun to appear.
Though she wasn't one of the first founders of Firewall, some of her colleagues that were took note of the change in her debates and talks, and approached her as a more public face. She had some involvement in the operations side, but not as much as she wanted, especially as she began to learn more about the realities of the tenuous situation they now found themselves in. She had some involvement in the Lima server, but found herself restricted because of her ties to more legitimate society- there had to be a buffer in case she was compromised. She found herself better able to get involved on an operational level in Eridani. It is not known the full extent of her operations in that system- she plays her cards close to her chest.
