The Favored Son

The Favored Son was sung into existence by Aventus and was his first, most favored child. Aventus Doted on him, giving him all of the powers at his disposal. Aventus would spend most of his time with The Favored Son, and even Soluhn found it strange that he seemed to do so at the exclusion of his other children. Despite this, The Favored Son looked up to and admired Soluhn. He found that where his father was passive and indecisive, Soluhn was frank and knowledgeable.   As a Seraph, the Favored Son was kind to his younger siblings, and helped to guide them as Aventus and Soluhn had guided them. He taught them of their power and limitations and showed them how to shape creation as he did. The Favored Son would grow prideful as he did these things, believing himself to be the first and foremost of his Choir, save for his Father, and his Choir to be first and foremost among those of the Heavens. He would still treat his fellows well, but there was a strange boastfulness that wasn't present before.   Eventually, the Favored Son would grow tired of his duties as a Seraph, and would seek out even greater power and authority. He would seek to make his own choir but his Father, wise to his recent hunger for power, would keep him under his wing to help maintain the Choir of Whispered Song. One of the key things that would cement this would be the counsel of Esteele,  who saw great ambition within the Angel and feared him.   When Hald  began proselytizing that Esteele and all bands of demons sought to end all of Creation, The Favored Son would sing a single blade into existence. This blade would be a perversion of reality, its appearance bone white, and he would name it Garvelment. With this blade, he would strike down Esteele at a performance of both Angels and Demons. He would retreat to Vuender'Fel to hide from the wrath of the bands. He would tell Aventus what he had done, saying that someone had to stop Esteele from destroying the cosmos. Aventus, despite knowing that he harbored The First Murderer, would not hand him over for judgment at the hands of the bands. He would prepare for war.   The First Murderer was present at many of the opening actions in the Celestial War, telling others that killing Esteele was his only option to protect all of creation.   He would be killed in the Burning of Vuender'Fel, where The Destroyer  would kill him and mutilate his corpse. After killing him, the Destroyer would cast Garvelment into the void, only to be found later by Aventus.   After The Lurker's Deception and the true extent of Aventus' madness were discovered, The Favored Son's name was stricken from the Song.

The Favored Son sang the first blade, Garvelment, into existence.

The First Murderer is remembered only for the crime he committed, which has forever tarnished his memory, and stolen his name.

The Favored Son has a harsh, cruel kind of intelligence, and takes delight in showing his superiority over others.   As time passed in the Celestial War, he started to believe that the only way to show his superiority was through martial prowess.

The Favored Son believes that the Choir of Whispered Verse is the greatest of all creation, and that their song is more important than any other. Despite this, he believes that the others still serve a valuable purpose in harmonizing with and uplifting their song.

The Favored Son is motivated by his desire to uplift and sing the Song of Quiet Verse.

After his death, The First Murderer is remembered only for his crime. Despite this, one of his creations, Garvelment, still exists within reality, passing through time and space for uncountable eons.

The First Murderer had a boastful, eager charisma. He found conversations with others to be something that came easily to him, and spent a great deal of his time mingling with other choirs and bands. As time passed, and the Celestial War grew closer to fruition, he grew colder and more distant with others.   Once he began spilling blood, the Favored Son separated himself completely from the others of his choir, save his Father, always thinking of the next steps in the war.
