Tuathanan
More fully known as the Forest Kingdom of Tuathanan. This country confuses many outsiders as it is unclear as to how the government runs. The smaller population of Elves is in charge of the government, and only Elves are allowed to be full citizens. There are regular votes and a complex series of social positioning maneuvers, but not a lot of clear administrative positions. Only the King and Queen are clearly defined.
While only elves can be citizens they have more infrastructure than they can run. The Plague of Silmora hit them very hard and so they are loath to risk citizens lives, so the vast majority of the populace is made up of contracted or indentured individuals. These non-citizens typically wear leather, as it is abundantly available. While the citizens prize imported fabrics such as wool, linen and cottons. Non-citizens are often human, and orcish.
Culture
The architecture of Tuathanan prioritizes trees amongst the buildings. Most buildings (not just homes) are built around fireplaces, forges or central flame based lanterns. Many also incorporate terraces with vining plants that drape the stone. There are more buildings than needed in the primary cities, so former palaces and civic buildings often get converted to warehouses, or even hostels.
Non-citizens must be legally given a token of work and registered to be considered lawfully in the country. Most are grateful for the work, regular pay and relative stability even though they are often not treated kindly by some of the high elves in power.
Assets
It is believed they have several proto-mystic engines not affected by the Great Flare . This allows the city extensive night-time lighting in their two major cities, as well as a series of Cartaries that still run cargo and people within the proximity of the cities. Historically these have provided defenses as well, though if they are still functional is a mystery. They have a closed magic academy and a good number of wizards at their disposal. As such they have been successful at repelling two attempted invasions in the last hundred years, even gaining some territory in those disputes.
Demography and Population
High Elves represent the dominant minority of the population. Tarlinjin humans make up the majority, with Orcs about as common as the elves themselves. The prejudice of the elves against dwarves, gnomes and halflings makes it so most do not desire to remain in the nation.
Religion
Most elves and humans revere the Venetsir pantheon. Temples and shrines are frequented by them and well kept. Their clergy are some of the most respected in the society. Orcs are often worshipers of The Dragon Gods .
Agriculture & Industry
The cultivation of tree and vining fruits produces large amounts of food for local use and export. Herds of Hornacs are also common and provide a good source of meat, milk and leather. Simple cheeses, yogurts, dried fruits, and jams are most used for export. They do however have a couple of trade paths using the Starlit Path to trade fresh milk and fruits. They jealously guard those paths and prevent others from using those portals.
Trade & Transport
The capitol of Urbsilva controls the Straight of Craeg which controls ocean transport from the western sides of Shovamhon and the Great Pinhou . The tariffs are not heavy, but undesirable to many. They actively use old elvish portals to trade fresh products with Soramizu , Tua Janin , and the Knowing Iles .
