Venetsir

The Venetsir pantheon is typically depicted as a family. It is led be priests and clerics dedicated to the entire pantheon. A few special monastic orders will manage special affairs dedicated to an aspect of the pantheon but will invoke the names of all members regularly in prayers and services.

Structure

A central figure in the High Priest with his assistants the Keeper of the Words, and Keeper of the Keys. The High Priest, is selected by the council of 9. They are assisted by the Leading Elders who each are the heads of their own councils. These councils are made up of the Elders of Number, who are assigned different duties and domains of responsibility. Some govern territories of the church, and others specific organizations.

Local parishes are presided by Bishops and Priests who report to an Elder of Number. Many churches and monasteries also venerate names Angels or Saints. Such as the Church of Saint Maxil the Protector, the Hospital of Angel Gidden, and Monastary of Acaton the Wise.

Culture

Many sub-cultures exist in the church,. As a far reaching religion there are differences that creep in with the various cultures it interacts with.

History

One of the older religions in the Cradle, it has a deep and complex liturgy and doctrine. It has many old traditions and has incorporated new traditions in some regions. It has generally tried to stay out of politics for several hundred years, though it was more tied to politics in history.

Demography and Population

They are open to sentient members of all species. Members are most common among humans, gnomes, halflings and dwarves. Local records are not summarized to church wide statistics very well, so the number of actual members is unclear. They are however one of the most organized religions in the Island Continent of Bellflower and the Henderent Plains .

Military

The church supports security forces. Most being for specific temples where vandalism has taken place. They also have a team of Grave Wardens that protects grave sites from necromancers, they maintain the consecration on graves and put down undead arisings. They have both official members and conscripted or deputized members.

Laws

The 15 laws of heaven are the most prominent, and often memorized by adherents. The religion's primary scripture, Codex Divino, has a lot of additional laws and stories. Additional rules are held in handbooks, ecclesiastical law reviews and doctrinal council notes.

Worship

The Priestly sacraments and ordinances include the following: Ordination, Baptism, Marriage, Grand Gathering, Gathering, Blessing, Investiture, Anointing, and Consecration.

The worshiper sacraments are: Prayer, Sacrifice, Supplication and Oration.

Priesthood

Priests must be male, over the age of maturity, and completed a seminarian program. Women may be acolytes, nuns, and operate in all other roles in the church. They can run just about any program other than be the principle leader of some organizations within the church.
