Druid

"Her powers... something truly remarkable, beyond my understanding. She can create rainstorms, harness the wind, speak to the trees" - Mallan Wolfram, writing of the druidess Blue Eagle
A Druid was an individual who, in some form, worshiped nature deities and harnessed the power of nature for themselves or others.

Ren Berig Druids

Ren Berig Druids occupied a central role within a Ren Berig tribe. In conjunction with chieftains, they led their people on political matters while also acting as scholars, healers, lawyers, teachers, and, most importantly, priests. The word of a druid was considered extremely sacred, and even powerful chieftains could be at the mercy of local druid circles.   Conversely, most Ren Berig Druids chose not to play a grandiose role in tribal politics. Instead, they spent their time focused on gaining a better understanding of the world around them, working together or alone to discover the secrets of nature. Druid circles often reached out to each other even during times of warfare, so long as their pursuits at that time were unconcerned with battle.   Druid rituals in Ren Berig culture differed by tribe, but known practices including singing in sacred spaces of forests, the sacrifice of animals, trees, and sometimes humans, and extended communal meditation.

Arqu Druids

Druidry was introduced to the Arqu through the Saga of Branwen, the first major document to describe at length the practice of druidry. This system of spiritual leadership replaced the old Arqu custom of a God-Ruler. Though similar in many ways, Arqu Druids differed in that they led the local populace in worship of nature deities, as opposed to performing the worshiping themselves. In addition, they did not perform sacrificial acts.

Other Druids

Druids that were not Arqu or Ren Berig existed in several forms, most commonly as adventurers. These Druids tended to master shapeshifting and combat-focused nature magic.
Alternative Names
Druids were sometimes known as "Forest Priests," "Wise Ones," or "Shamans"
