Maikhosato

Maikhosato, the Divine City, stands at the heart of Maikhohoto as both its spiritual and political center, a city where divine legacy and mortal ambition intertwine. Built upon the ruins of older temples said to mark the place where Maikho’s flame first touched the earth, its broad avenues radiate outward from its cetral structures: The Imperial Palace, home of the Emperor of Maikhohoto, and the Imperial Temple, the holiest site of the Makhoren. Over the centuries, dynasties and shogunates have rebuilt and reshaped it: towering pagodas rise beside weathered stone halls, canals gleam between districts of artisans, courtiers, and warrior houses. Though scarred by sieges and fire, Maikhosato remains the beating heart of the empire, a place where emperors are crowned, calendars are proclaimed, and the will of gods and men is endlessly negotiated beneath the whispering bells of its thousand shrines.
