Jin Ning
"Old Dar es Salaam? New Mombasa? No no no my friend, Jin Ning is the future of Kuthor. Food? Culture? Industry? Sports? Education? Jin Ning. We've worked hard to get where we are, and we aren't going to stop!"
~ Wan Li, futurist and Jin Ning enthusiast
Located on the central west coast of Xindalu, Jin Ning is on the same latitude as Old Dar es Salaam, and is its oldest rival on the planet as the second colony that was founded on Tanit II. Named for the colony vessel that brought them to Kuthor, Jin Ning swiftly gained a reputation for its vivacious citizens and deep sense of competition. The skyline is bright and exciting by night, its low array style arcologies competing with elaborate light and drone displays. The streets and walkways hum with life and activity, and even visitors from the quietest backwater settlements find themselves caught up in the excitement. It's also inarguably the most capitalist location on Kuthor, even with its mixed economy, and its corporate entities have a reputation for being predatory in comparison to others on the planet and in the system.
Demographics
Jin Ning has a diverse and integrated population, and one of the highest Synthroid populations on the planet. Just as New Mombasa and Old Dar es Salaam show their strong African roots, Jin Ning shows strong Asian ones. The Zoanid and Chimerid demographics are deeply integrated with the cultural groups they grew up in.

The government of Jin Ning uses a modified electocracy system, where, for the most part, after elections, the government takes care of government things with little input from the population. Elections are held every sixth year, and parties are forbidden to engage in electoral activities until a sixty day window prior to the election.
The System
The government is unicameral, and is elected using a proportional ranked ballot vote, with the leader of the largest party represented taking the title of prime minister if their party has 51% of the assembly. If they don't have that, they can form a minority government if they have at least 40% of the assembly. Anything less requires a formal alliance with other parties until at least 40% is achieved.Popular Interaction
Between and prior to elections, the most common form of interaction Jin Ning citizens have with their leadership is via referendums. Participation isn't mandatory, but turn outs of 70% or more in Nin Jing itself, and up to 92% in its colonial network settlements is normal. It's a rare instance to not quite direct governmental direction, but to at least let the politicians know how everyone is feeling about specific topics. Governments who have consistently gone against the data collected by referendum have generally had short careers.Infrastructure
Jin Ning utilizes multiple array style arcologies in its design, featuring well developed infrastructure throughout.
