Section D: Port Regulations

 

1) Docking Laws

D1

Captains must pay 3 Silver Pieces per day their vessel is docked, which may be paid in advance for up to 1 year. Captains must also pay an additional long-term docking tax for each week the vessel is docked. The tax is 1 gold per week, the price multiplies per consecutive week the vessel is docked to a maximum of 10 gold per week. The multiplier resets back to 1 gold when the vessel is absent from the dock for at least 2 days. Refusing to pay the daily cost, tax, or leaving the vessel docked longer than paid for will result in the vessel becoming city property and will either be auctioned off or scrapped.  

D1A

The Dock Master may pardon a captain of their daily payment but not the tax. Punishment for not obtaining tax is an immediate permanent relief of duty and jail time for up to a year and must pay the city gold equal to the tax they pardoned.

The current King may temporarily or permanently pardon captains of the tax. This boon is called the Dock Pardon and is granted via license which must be kept on the vessel at all times unless a dock master takes it for inspection.

If the docked vessel is an official fishing vessel, the tax is reduced to 1 copper piece (weekly multiplier still applies) granted that it's docked in a designated fishing dock.
