Seaview

Seaview is the Merchant's City and is used as a trading port for all of Great Eethill. Here many are rich, many are poor, and many are robbed by pirates. King Leigh II sits on his thrown in the Empire's District coming up with ways to restore the Requian Empire.

Demographics

Being the biggest ports in Great Eethill, many vessels from across the Mortal Realm travels here. Because of this, the city's racial demographic is incredibly varied to the point it isn't kept track of. Professions also vary but are generally related to making the port functional, or is a shop or service based on an imported good.

Government

This city is directly controlled by King Leigh II who has designated several people to be his informants, all of which are assigned a different topic to keep track of. For example, he has someone monitoring the total population and has them work with the person who is monitoring the city's agriculture and food intake to make sure there's enough food begin given to everyone. Any problems they find are reported to the King who is also given a possible solution that he may reject, modify, or accept. He may only reject the solution if he has an alternative one.

Defences

The Requian Navy constantly patrols the waters off the coast of Seaview, easily taking down small enemy forces (which are usually ill-prepared pirates). Within the city are guards who are mostly survivors of the Requian Empire. They've been through a lot, seen their friends and families die, and somehow survived themselves. They take their duty seriously and don't like disrespectful folk.

Industry & Trade

Many countries from across Great Eethill import their trading goods into this port. Before they are exported to the intended place, citizens have the opportunity to purchase their goods for themselves. This allows many people to trade a variety of items catered to anyone. This has given the city a famous saying: if you need something, it's in Seaview.

Districts

Seaview is split into three different territories determined by which cliff the district sits on. On the beach are the docks and shops, called the Merchant's District. The cliff overlooking the docks is where houses, temples, and a few taverns are placed. This is called the People's District. And finally, on the cliff overlooking the entirety of the city is the Empire's District where all politically aligned organizations and mansions sit.

Guilds and Factions

The Golden Society

Seaview has two kinds of people: the rich beyond belief merchants and the dirt poor. A few of the richest people in the city formed a Merchant's Guild called the Golden Society. There they control the economy of Seaview, and because Seaview is a key importer/exporter, the economy of Great Eethill as a whole. Though this is common knowledge, not many make a big deal out of this, or just outright say it's a myth. All members are anonymous and usually use their power to secretly steal from smaller businesses to stack their pile of gold higher.

Architecture

In the oldest parts of Seaview (such as the Merchant's District), buildings are tall and have space between each other. Many of the buildings in this district are made of wood which for newer districts (such as the People's or Empire's) is made of stone, as there was a shortage of wood and making ships became a higher priority.

Geography

This is where the cliffs become narrow and become steep steps out to the Plateau. Each district sits on one of the lower cliffs, and are connected through underground tunnels and lifts placed next to cliff walls. The city is also placed within a coast with three openings out into the Golf. See the diagram below for more detail.
