Vikor the Gentle.

Name, Title, Rank

Vikor the Gentle holds the rank of Frostwarden, but he does not lead rune warriors into battle nor delegate missions. His role is different: he serves as a soul healer and speaker of the ancestors. He earned his name because he never raises his voice and always treats others gently, with a focus on harmony.  

Age

Vikor is already among the elder Frostfolk. His exact age is not publicly known, but he is estimated to be around fifty-five to sixty years old.  

Appearance and Physical Condition

Vikor shows signs of age, yet he remains agile and – unlike many others his age – has not developed any age-related weight. He is of average height, about 1.54 meters, and his dark hair is streaked with only a few strands of gray. His gaze always appears tired and dreamy, as if he sees into a world no one else perceives. His face is adorned with many fine wrinkles, and he almost always wears a gentle smile.  

Background

Little is known about Vikor. Like most who can speak with the ancestors, he is said to have formed a special bond with an ancestral spirit in his youth. He remains silent about his past – except when he shares wisdom with his patients through teaching phrases.  

Drive and Goals

Vikor’s guiding principle, which he often recites, is: “When the spirit is ill, the body will be ill as well.” He sees his purpose in healing the spirit – or at least showing the path by which it may heal itself. He appears to have no private goals, or he simply does not speak of them.  

Family and Friends

A picture of a woman hangs in his chamber, but Vikor never speaks of her. On board the Raskab’s Fist, he is respected in his role, yet he lives a reclusive life and rarely seeks company. When he does appear, he is always welcome – his nature makes him a pleasant presence.  

Contacts

On the Raskab’s Fist, he is the one who truly knows everyone by name – and often more than that. He remembers the people around him and observes them attentively. At times, he knows more about a person than they do themselves. However, he does not maintain close relationships.  

Profession and Rank

Vikor is the soul healer and ancestral speaker aboard the Raskab’s Fist. People come to him when they suffer from low spirits or fears – or simply need someone to vent their daily frustrations. Vikor listens without judgment and offers advice when asked. He often stands quietly at the edge of events, unobtrusive, never in the way. People have grown used to him stepping out of a corner and suddenly being there – not infrequently startling someone in the process. He also tends the Ancestor Shrine, a quiet place for communion with the ancestors. Once a week, Vikor invites others to the ancestral remembrance ceremony, which is rarely well attended – yet he conducts the ritual with the same calm, whether two or twenty people show up.  

Location

Vikor lives aboard the Raskab’s Fist. He receives his patients in a small room next to the Ancestor Shrine, which he oversees. There, they can lie down on a bed and tell him what troubles them. The room behind it is Vikor’s private retreat.  

Reputation

Vikor is not a social person, even though he is a healer of the community. Everyone aboard appreciates him – especially those who entrust him with their fears and worries, as he is discreet and often knows the right advice. He is also frequently asked to mediate between those in conflict. His reputation is excellent, though it pertains almost exclusively to his professional role. Privately, he is considered reserved and reclusive.
