The Quiet Hollow.

The Quiet Hollow

“The trees don’t speak here. But sometimes, if you listen, they remember.”

Location:

Northeast of The Last Stand, beyond the edge of Timberfall Grove

Overview

The Quiet Hollow is a secluded patch of woodland nestled between two low ridges. It's an oddly still place—no birdsong, no rustling wind, no animal tracks. Only petrified trees and strangely coiled thistlebrush fill the glade.   Locals say the Hollow was once blessed—or cursed—by ancient forces. Some whisper that it was touched by the Fey, and that stepping too deep into its silence will make you forget why you came.

What Locals Say

“Don’t speak your full name out loud in the Hollow.”   “Dreamers sleep too deeply if they lie on the stone there.”   “Sometimes, the dead trees hum when the moon is high.”   “No birds ever perch there. They know better.”

Known Oddities

Sounds carry strangely—or not at all.   Writings brought into the Hollow sometimes mirror themselves.   Travelers report faint whispers at dusk and moths with spiral patterns.   Any fire kindled in the Hollow burns a pale blue and gives off no heat.

Is It Dangerous?

Not directly. But the longer one stays, the more the Hollow seems to remember you.   Players who spend extended time within may:   Experience vivid dreams tied to forgotten places   See flickers of unfamiliar figures at the edge of vision   Hear their own voice echo back slightly... differently

Why Visit?

Some herbs and fungi found only in the Hollow are used in rare rites   The silence can calm magical auras or offer clarity in divination   It may be tied to ancient rituals related to The Founders

Rumors

A long-lost altar is buried beneath the soil, placed there by sun-priests long ago   A child once vanished in the Hollow and returned speaking poetry she’d never learned   The place used to open into something else… but it closed after a prayer was sung backward

Player Note

You may feel something stir here—especially if you’ve been dreaming strange things lately. The Hollow doesn’t hurt... but it sees.
