Standard magic is a group of magic styles that most living beings are capable of learning. It differs from
higher magic in that standard magic abilities have no major requirements for entry. If a living being has a
soul, they are capable of practicing any of the standard styles and their branches, provided they commit to practicing only one style.
Three Three Three...
The number three is very significant when it comes to
magic. Magic is divided into three main tiers. Standard magic is accessible to most living beings, while
higher magic is limited to the truly exceptional, often requiring more than sapience and years of practice to even gain entry. The highest tier is referred to simply as
anima, of which little is known, except that it was used to create magic as it is known in this universe.
Each of these groups have three styles. Standard magic is the collective name for
blue magic,
green magic, and
red magic, often referred to as positive, neutral, and negative magic, repectively.
Each style has three branches, which can be learned by anyone who has commited to practicing their respective styles. Each branch has three abilities, which each have three tiers, often improving upon the lower tiers of the ability.
