The Hand of Coptek
The Hand of Coptek is a 3km long and wide voidship produced in the Raakata system. It is a heavily modified Lisengeggor-Reclamation Rig.
The Hand is essentially a mobile manufactorum and reprocessing station. Originally the Reclamation Rigs were designed as mining platforms, but after the start of The Great War the few Rigs in service were refitted to function as salvage and repair workshops by the Raakatan Mechanicus.
The only one currently known was discovered and partially repaired by Mechanicus crew sent into the The Charybdis Graveyard by Magus Titanus Vorg from the Star Charter. Although the large ship is relatively powerful compared to most Ithacan Star League Navy ships, it's weak by comparison to the Imperial Navy, possessing just enough defensive firepower to guard against casual attack.
The Hand was recently severely damaged, which destroyed the majority of the reclamation bay, salvage plant and caused major damage to the Forge Decks and the Assembly Bays. It is currently located in the The Scrapnest Cluster.
Void Bay
In it's optimal configuration a 2km long and wide open bay takes up the majority of the front of the ship, the open front of this bay is protected by a (configurable) energy field, it's primary purpose is to keep the atmosphere in. The bay also features configurable gravitational generators that allow the operators to create gravity-gradients to 'scoop' in asteroid material or wrecked ships, or great low- or zero-gravity environments to allow easy working access to docked ships needing repair, or fabricate massive sections of voidships before moving them out.Reclamation Plant
Behind the void bay is an extensive industrial reprocessing factory designed to be able to sort and process materials rapidly and efficiently. These materials are then sent either down to a smelting plant at the very bottom of the ship where they are re-forged into fresh materials, or (for those parts that can be reclaimed intact) sent directly up to the Forge and Fabrication decks.Central Shaft
Running vertically down through the core of the Hand is a cylindrical open area with a central column connected via bridges and walkways to different parts of the ship. This is the main transport shaft. Running through the core of the central column are numerous tubes, conveyors and gravity-irised shafts that allow the rapid transport and distribution of materials to other parts of the ship. Wrapped around this core are maintenance rooms, store rooms and control rooms, as well as living space for up-to thousands of low-level workers.Forge Decks
A wide, strong bridge connects the Central Shaft to the Forge decks. The door is massive, large enough to pass big components through. Beyond the big door is a very wide area lined with massive doors. Most of the doors are closed, but a few are open. Through each door is a gigantic workshop space. There are rows of industrial forges here, each can be configured to process raw materials. Fabricator Decks The Fabricator decks are all connected together (and connected to the Forges below) via lifts and conveyors. These areas are modular, so they can be rebuilt to accommodate a lot of different manufacturing tasks. The Fabricator rooms contain Mechanicus mini-factories known as Fabricators. These can be reconfigured to any sort of manufacturing task and 'plugged' into each other to create assembly-lines or into other fabrication machines to make other things. Prison & Servitor Assembly A portion of the Fabricator Deck is given over to a large Prison area (little more than a large storehouse) and next to that is an assembly-line configured for making prisoners into servitors.Hangar and Service areas
The Fabricator decks are lined on both sides by massive hangar areas. Several of these are clearly intended to be used to dock ships to load/unload cargo and good. There are also hangars that are set up for repair and maintenance.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
