Ykryn basilisk
The ykryn basilisk, just like the name suggests, was one of the ealier creations by Ykryne . Fascinated by the effect that the foul magic in Roth had on the creatures living there. The common lizard found in the valley had already mutated in something bigger and stronger, and would later become known as a Bunyip , a fierce creature feared by many. Ykryne wondered what his experiments could do to this very same lizard, and took on the challenge to make it even scarier than Roth's bunyip. The result was a creature that looked far from it's bunyip counterspecies, and one could state that the vesajan scientest passed the challenge.
The ykryn basilisk is a jet black lizard of about 4-6 meter long and 1m50 high. The black hide enables it to be near invisible when dwelling in the shadow, earning it the second name of "shadow basilisk". They are carnivorous and eat anything that crosses their path, regardless of size. Their tong is coated in a potent poison which can easily kill smaller creatures, and has a paralizing effect on larger prey. In addition, this basilisk is capable of producing unnatural "screamlike" sounds which causes a primal fear in anything that hears it.

After it's creation, Ykryne placed several of these basilisks throughout his laboratory to keep away unwanted guests. They proved to be very effective, as no one in their right mind would dare to investigate what caused these dreadful screams. However, the basilisks were not able to distinguish friend from foe and would often end up killing Yrkyne's accomplices. After the banning of Ykryne, and his order forced to flee from western Theria, these pet basilisks and their weird features were seen as a treath for humans and therefore killed. During his reign however, Ykryne has released some specimens into the wild, just for the sport of it and to see what would happen. Because humans kill them whenever they get the chance, these wild basilisks are extremely rare. In addition, rumour has it that the Ak'zan Khul-ur , the former order of Ykryne, managed to smuggle a few basilisks out of eastern Theria, and still keep them as pets to this day.
