Bezjans

Bezjans are natives of the Bezjan dimension, and most are affiliated with Bejakoz. Their biology and anatomy can range from similar to humans to completely alien as many subspecies exist. They are considered the ultimate threat to Tempertaria by most governments and organizations.

History

Though their history and origin is ultimately unknown to Tempertaria, it is speculated that they are not originally from the Bezjan dimension. Ancient structures and ruins have been discovered on expeditions into Bejakoz that do not align with the common understanding of Bezjan structures, suggesting that they may have wiped out the dimensions original inhabitants a long time ago.

They crossed over into Tempertaria during the Era of Kings, where several gateways opened all at once simultaneously around the world. This event was dubbed the Collision, and it marked the day that the Bezjans first entered Tempertaria. It is still not known how they managed to connect their world to Tempertaria, however it is known that opening a gateway requires some form of sacrifice, exactly what is sacrificed isn't clear. Gateways appeared in the regions of Taria, eastern Ouakalia, Kassathia, and Yarania, although The Tarian gateway was wiped out early by a combined force lead by Fabien Nadia, who managed to forge a pact with Gemiknight and enter the gateway.

Sadly this was only temporary as hundreds of years later the gate would reopen with the Second Collision, which saw a huge increase in Bezjan invaders though its consequences were admittedly small compared to the first. Permanent bases were by this time established by the Bezjans, usually constructed either by kidnapped Tempertarian slaves or lesser Bezjan demons. Camp Haeliti, as it is called by Tempertarians, is the most noteworthy, constructed around the Tarian gateway and has the largest population of Bezjans in Tempertaria.

For a while the Bezjans seemingly appeared to settle into their positions in Tempertaria, as their last major attempt at invading the rest of Tempertaria was halted at the siege of Denarra. This marked the beginning of an era of relative dormancy for the Bezjans. Increasingly, more Tempertarian lives were lost to conflicts amidst themselves instead of Bezjan raids, which although very much still a present danger in the The Divinarate, at the northern front of Fedria, or on the Thyrimian borderlands, are much less common than in previous times especially in regions isolated from Bezjan influence like the Pannalian flatlands or Ungri mountains. This would be the natural order for nearly a millennia.

This would all change in the year (INSERT CORRECT DATE), where in the midst of the Artemisian world order being established the Third Collision reared its ugly head and caused an onslaught of attacks not seen since the Era of Crisis. Though technology had certainly made mowing down waves of demons easier than ever, the Bezjans had seemingly evolved in many ways that made machine gun fire less effective. Their tactics increasingly relied on stealth and ambushing, sneaking into forts undetected and slaughtering its garrison, and when that didn't work new types would simply appear with reinforced biological armor resistent to bullets. It was almost as if the Bezjans had spent their years of inactivity evolving to meet the challenges they would likely face from Tempertarian defenses. This initial wave of attacks was defeated with much difficulty, however the Bezjans have shown no sign of decreasing their attacks since this and are likely preparing for another stronger assault.

Bezjan cults, which although had been active for many years, had also began increasing activities from within the Tempertarian countries. Kidnapping priests and assassinating politicians became more and more common, and nations were increasingly looking within their own borders for threats.

It was decided by most nations that it would no longer be a viable strategy to simply defend anymore, and new commitments were made to take the fight to the Bezjans. The Cothesi have slowly began expeditions into the Bezjan gateways and gathered far more information on the Bezjans than previously known of. Two smaller gates, The Yarani and Kassani gateways, have even been permanently destroyed by expeditions led by the eccentric Nomad, who with his compatriots, established the sovereign nation of Kassathia in the wake of the Kassani gates destruction. These expeditions, though huge successes, are however no indication that the Bezjans are nearing defeat, as they both occurred in the least defended Bezjan occupied territories.

Most recently a group of Bezjan Cultists in Taria managed to summon a smaller gateway within the borders of the Divinarate, bypassing the numerous defenses of the Tarian front. This was known as The Tarian border crisis of 1895. Their methods are currently being studied and countermeasures are being implemented wherever possible, though with the recent outbreak of the Artesjan Civil War it looks as though these groups have been given more free reign than ever to wreak havoc.
