The Tippled Gander

An atypical establishment, for Tulara, The Tippled Gander is one of the few places in the city with a liquor license. They serve premium libations in the form of small-batch dharak, beer, ale, and honey mead. The owner has contracts with a regular caravan that makes rounds to Port Kalamihari and Cannat Glaine, returning with exotic liquors and mixers periodically throughout the year.   The tavern serves local food, another oddity in a city where tea houses serve tea, and food purveyors sell food, often in the form of fried falafel patties and stuffed grape leaves. The menu changes daily, with local favorites making a rotation through the gastronomical offerings of the establishment.   Yet another service the owner offers is "bed and breakfast"; a phenomenon seen more overseas in Pax. In the Rhegev, people sleep in a rented room, and usually eat and relax elsewhere. At the Tippled Gander, however, one can rent a bed in a common room for a standard silver coin.

Purpose / Function

This tavern and inn is a real draw to people from overseas, where such things are more popular. Many of the locals see it as a great place to have a meal, but laugh at the thought of a restaurant boarding people!

Alterations

The second floor was added a couple of hundred years after it was first built, during a routine renovation of the walls and structure. The latrines, plumbing, and upstairs rooms were all added at the same time as the kitchen was upgraded.

Architecture

It is a typically built Tulara building, made of sturdy stone frames clad with adobe and glazed with a limestone whitewash.

Tourism

This is the quintissential 'tourist bar' in Tulara.
