Eärmithalas

River Lands

Eärmithalas, or River Lands, was a breathtakingly beautiful region that served as the home of the Valaraith. It stretched from the desert of Harnwaith in the central continent to the eastern coast, and was bounded by two great tropical forests of Taurëa to the south and Neldorath to the north. The centerpiece of this region was the River Rivendaloth, which flowed through the heart of the plains, and was fed by its tributary, the River Rhegilond.   Eärmithalas were a verdant paradise, lush and fertile, and rich with all manner of flora and fauna. The river itself was a marvel to behold, a winding serpent of deep blue that shimmered in the sunlight. Its banks were dotted with towering trees, their branches heavy with fruits and leaves, and thick carpets of green grasses and wildflowers. Along the river's edge, giant lily pads floated lazily on the surface, and schools of brightly colored fish swam in the clear waters.   The forests that flanked the northern and southern borders of the river plain were home to all manner of creatures, from tiny hummingbirds to massive elephants. The trees themselves were a wonder to behold, their trunks stretching impossibly high into the sky, and their canopies casting dappled shadows on the forest floor below. The forests were home to a wide variety of fruit trees, from mangoes and papayas to guavas and avocados. Eärmithalas itself were known for its abundant wildlife. Herds of gazelles and antelopes roamed the plains, while packs of wolves and hyenas hunted them from the cover of the forests. Elephants and giraffes grazed on the treetops, and huge flocks of birds filled the skies.   It was here that the mayority of the Elenathor settled at the start of the time of Tatharavalëa. They founded the city of Celebrendor at the banks of Rivendaloth. This would go on to be the seat of the Valaraith before they moved to Lirionostarë. The Valaraith made use of the bountiful resources of the region to support their progress in a multitude of areas.
