Taurëa

Taurëa is a vast, lush tropical forest located in the southeastern region of Tathariel. It is the very place where the elves first awoke at the dawn of the First Age, and is thus considered sacred in elvish lore. Few places in the world carry as much reverence in the hearts of the Elenathor as Taurëa.   The forest is home to a dazzling array of flora and fauna, many of which are found nowhere else in Endórëmar. Towering trees with thick trunks and sprawling branches dominate the canopy, while delicate ferns and vibrant flowers carpet the forest floor. Rivers and streams weave through the trees, sustaining the diverse life within.   In elvish culture, Taurëa holds a unique place as both sanctuary and symbol. The forest is seen not only as a home but as a living bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. It is said the trees are imbued with ancient magic, and that the elves can commune with nature spirits within its bounds. Many rites of passage take place here—among them, the naming of elvish children and the consecration of kings.   Across the ages, the elves have defended Taurëa with unwavering devotion. Even during times of war and upheaval, they fought to preserve its sanctity, wielding their magic to heal wounds carved by conflict and protect the forest’s ancient heart. Cutting down a tree in Taurëa is still considered a grave offense, a violation of the living pact between elf and land.   To this day, Taurëa endures as a symbol of nature’s power and beauty, and as a living reminder of the elves’ bond with the world they cherish and protect.
