The first permanent Goldmane settlement in Northern Tolesh

The Goldmane explorers that surved their first Riddari winter, bolstered by resupply ships in teh spring, and pressured by their enemy also landing nearby, founded the first permanent settlements, which eventally became known as Point Royal .

The first Goldmane explorers had a rough time. Many of them died from a strange new illness called The Weeping that they contracted after stepping foot on the plains of Riddari . They had encountered this illness before when meeting with the BINE and people from Southern Tolesh , however, this was much worse. They had thought that it was spread from person to person. They limited their contact with people that could have it. Meetings with Toleshians were often done ship-to-ship. But there were no people were here, and still the early explored died in droves. The Goldmane were a hearty and tough people though, and their individual physical constitutions helped prevent them all from dying. To make matters worse, they had gotten word that their ancient enemy, the Goance had landed ships to the west of their loacation. Once through the terrible winter, and with new ships arriving in the spring of 71 BU, they found a spot and built a moat and bailey town atop a enormous bluff overlooking the Galene Sea . This bluff split the Palasar River in twain before it plunged hundreds of feet down to the sea. This was originally called Ensikodille (first home), but is now known as Point Royal
