Taeris

Taeris is an old world, but the memories of the known races only go back to The Void, a "Dark Ages" when much of the world's history was lost. A time when the skies went hark and ash rained down. Powerful magics were employed just to ensure survival.   The eastern hemisphere is composed of several continents and is generally referred to as the Old World. Although high in society and magic, the Old World also is mired in age old wars and conflicts.   In the Western Hemisphere explorers discovered new lands, however these lands came with a price. A strange disease called "The Weeping" befell most "Old Worlders" that set foot on the newly found continents of Tolesh. For a time it looked like the conflicts of the Old World would take over the new lands, but the differences were settled (mainly due to the Weeping being so dangerous to the meddling "Old Worlders") and new societies began to take root and grow.   Tolesh has now seen a few generations of settlers and kingdoms and empires are taking shape and expanding. However, the more the continents are explored, the more mysteries. Something truly earthshaking happened to Taeris in the distant past, and maybe Tolesh has the answer to what it was.
