Bonsk
Bonsk is a small hamlet along the Alabaster Way (Emperor's Road) in northern Easler right at the border of Kohta. The people here are poor and keep to themselves. Nearly everyone here is a farmer of some type. In the spring the Empirical Army does a "clearing" ride up the Alabaster Way to inspect for damage during the winter. The 50 - 100 soldiers stop in Bonsk. The soldiers camp, while the officers stay at the Boisterous Boar. This event is a virtual festive for Bonsk. The inhabitants sell fruis and meats to the soldiers and get information about the rest of the empire. Young Bonskans are always looking to snag a soldier to marry and take them out of the miserable village.

History
Long ago Bonsk Castle stood atop a hill just north of modern day Bonsk. It was the the main Goldmane defense on the southern border of Kohta from the Goance to the south. Once the empire was forged Bonsk Castle became obsolete and because the inhabitants had been hit so hard with the Weeping no one wanted to keep it up. Exposure to the elements over 200 or so years tore the castle almost completely down, save a bit of the wall and the gate towers on the protected southern side of the hill. Goance settlers in what would become Easler built a small village in the bowl of the hills south of the old castle hill. This hamlet was called Bonsk also, and was never rich it had a small dock, but nothing to ship. The only reason it stayed in existence was due to the Inn, which provided a stop-over from people travelling alone the Alabaster Way. As Easler's fortunes waned, Bonsk was severely affected. Now, there is no economy to speak of, people raise pigs and sheep and grow grains. The Boisterous Boar Tavern and Inn is still operational and provides the bulk of the yearly income of the whole village.
Architecture
Daub and wattle building with thatched roofs is typical. Most buildings are build low and with at least one wall against a hill to help weather the bitter cold winds of winter that howl in from the west across the Ridari plain. Roofs are typically very steep, as snowfall is 100 - 200 inches per year, and as much as 4' of snow in a single storm.
