The Founders

Little detail is known about the founders of Olympia. After emergence from the original arks, many people formed small tribes to survive in the wilds and against the horrors that still persisted. The histories of this time are lost to chaos and the instincts of survival as metahumanity discovered that their time in stasis had changed them not only physically but mentally. The skills of working together had to be relearned and retaught when humanity had become, in many cases, so different. For a time, there was only survival. Tribes formed on a whim, pulling their names from ruins and street signs and areas of the old world that they managed to eke out shelter and life from.   It took over a century to rediscover the Olympian Ark and its contents. The Coa were the ones that refound the entrance to the Olympian ark. The entrance had long been sealed and lost. The Coa’s leader, Jasper Sheen, managed to trigger the doorway through an unknown biometric scanner, however the door would not reopen without the presence of more humanity. The ark had been configured to rebuild a city for multiple people, not one.   Jasper began the arduous process of pulling together the local tribes to open the mysterious door. Spurred by curiosity and by an abiding hope that humanity could be more, Jasper worked over the span of several years to found a peace between the Coa and the other tribes in the area. In the end, seven years after first rediscovering the Olympia ark door, eight leaders of eight tribes placed their hands against the glass pane and the ark door opened. Almost immediately the machinery of Hephaestus quadrant began gathering existing materials from the ancient ruins and the area itself, printing new buildings from the raw materials. Life changed forever.

Structure

The eight founding tribes of Olympia:   The Coa: Led by charismatic and practical Jasper Sheen, the Coa occupied the ruins of a giant ancient era factory using it for shelter. The Coa were generally an approachable and friendly lot, with tribal ideals of community and cooperation.   The Emory: The Emory would later become some of the founding members of the Apollo district. They made their home in the ancient structures of an old university and were some of the folk who managed to teach literacy skills and scholarly habits to the fledgling city.   The Inmans: The Inmans centered themselves in what was once a neighborhood of the ancient city. They were a wild lot, known for being territorial and raiding.   The Bold and Brave: took over a vast open space in the area, using it as a camping ground for their center of operations. Isolationists, they used the labyrinthine and crumbling walls around the fields as a defense.   The Krogs: This very small tribe took over an ancient portion of ruins and managed to salvage some remnants of food preparation from ancient times.   The Pachtres: Settled near the Krogs and, with that tribe, were two of the first to ally with Jasper’s initiatives. The Pachtres had managed to stabilize in a given area and were adept at producing food and crops off of gleaned plant life.   The Poncems: were one of the last tribes to join the collective founders. Territorial and warlike, they rebuffed efforts at unification in favor of survival of the fittest. They had settled previously in the ruins of an ancient urban area.   The Sharks: their stylized and simple symbol was stolen from old signs in the area. The Sharks were also territorial to a fault and often fought with the Poncems.
