Langely Broadcasting Network
Langley Broadcasting Network is the single largest broadcast entity in Olympia. Its detractors and competitors often grumble about its trend toward being a monopoly. Still, every TV or radio station it buys up is allowed to keep its own identity - they just have to ensure the LBN logo is clearly displayed, so the world knows they've been made a subsidiary.
Public Agenda
LBN is an entertainment monolith. Isidoro Langley's stated goal is to have “a channel for every occasion” under his belt. His goal has been to build an umbrella under which any demographic imaginable could find something to entertain them. Only recently has LBN expanded into news broadcasts as well, with programs that run the gamut from relatively factual to sensationalized nonsense. There are plenty of other networks and news outlets still available to choose from, but LBN's slow expansion creep is undeniable.
Assets
LBN owns a private security firm, which handles the physical defense at all of its operational sites. It hosts just as formidable an army of lawyers and PR personnel to handle legal and social threats. While not untouchable per se, Langley has any number of friends in high enough places to make tackling his empire rather difficult.
History
Langley Broadcasting started off as a single entertainment channel. In partnership with the University of Apollo, it ran restored copies of television shows recovered from Ark dives. LBN took off in popularity with the start of its “What If?” series, wherein guest writers and actors would fill in the missing blanks between episodes with their own scripts. From there, LBN graduated to producing its own original series, hosting talk shows, acquiring radio station equipment and licensure, and has only continued to grow in power and popularity since.
