The Folded Peaks

Along the northern end of Lesser Montestrallis is a series of high mountain ranges, deep valleys and arid plateaus. Formed from the continental collision between the Montestrallises which resulted in uplift of the Folded Peaks. The Folded Peaks is a general term for the region and gets its name from the alternating pattern of mountains and valleys in the region. Due to the areas relative height, all warm wet air coming from the ocean to the east, is dried this dry air is what created the Grey Desert to the south west of the mountains.

While the whole area is technically the Corvus Coalition's domain, the central plateau is where most of there population thrives. while arid, the mountain streams that run through here have been cultivated to produce much of the Corvielo's food, that which can not be farmed here is usually hunted as husbandry in the mountains is very difficult. This has made meat a delicacy for some and a show of strength for others.

The Folded peaks is where the Algora River's source is and without it the Algora River Valley would run dry. As tensions have been rising between nations the Onyx Order made sure to alley with the Corvielo fearing that, if they were enemies, they could use this to their advantage and cut the river off.
