Finch Wilder

Promoter, Hype Specialist, Misinfo Aficionado

Overview

With a whistle like a woodwind solo and a grin that could derail a funeral procession, Finch Wilder is the burst of color and chaos who keeps The Echo Chamber airborne. Draped in a flamboyant zoot suit and crowned with a trilby adorned with a mysterious European goldfinch feather, Finch exudes mischief and charisma in equal measure. His gift is attention—gleaned, redirected, weaponized. Every banner that blinks, every crowd that sways, carries a little Finch magic.

Appearance

In his fae mien, Finch appears wiry and birdlike, with sharp eyes that sparkle with golden mischief and a voice that can mimic flutes, sirens, and sorrow. His bright clothes clash delightfully with his capricious nature, and his expressions often hover somewhere between invitation and challenge. His Pooka ears are sharply tipped and twitch when he lies, which is frequently and with flair.

Personality and Quirks

  • Untruth is an art form for Finach. Sylvaine Drear can almost always parse it.
  • Remy Nightingale (DJ Reverie) is his best friend, party liaison, and co-instigator.
  • Finch and Knox Grimsby have a secret bond over urban birdsong, but they’ll never admit it.
  • He speaks passionately against cruelty toward animals and plants—dandelions included.
  • Marvin the sentient scarf is his winter companion and caustic commentator.
  • He freezes (adorably) during orchestral music. Pranks cease. Silence reigns.

Specialties and Skills

  • Promotes events for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and brings the Glamour of anticipation.
  • Founding member of the chaotic flash-mob musical experiment known as the Feral Choir of Greater Gordon. His part? Haunting whistles.
  • Strong in Chicanery and Wayfare, though he prefers words to Cantrips.
  • Has enough pooka social clout to gather allies (and cause panic) at a moment’s notice.

Notable Incidents

  • Once falsely promoted a "Battle of the Bands Against Banality" so well that it actually happened—and was won by a chimerical raccoon with a keytar.
  • Keeps Cleveland’s Rock Hall animal-friendly at all costs; large pooka are encouraged to remain human during museum hours.
  • Allegedly stalling a war between the U.S. and a goose in Ontario.

Rumors and Relationships

  • Tense but oddly functional promotional rivalry with Helen Savanta (of the Doan's Corners Barony).
  • Former lover might’ve gifted the European goldfinch feather in his hat.
  • Refuses to comment on whether he knows The White Rabbit. His silence says yes.
