The White Rabbit is one of Cleveland’s most elusive—and most widely gossiped about—fae figures. Believed to be a Pooka that favors the form of a snow-white rabbit with oddly expressive ears, he is credited (or blamed) for a staggering number of misadventures and mythic happenings across the Sixth City’s modern history.

Most say the White Rabbit is a shapeshifter who appears in moments of chaos or just before things turn interesting. He's been seen darting through the Cleveland Metroparks, waiting solemnly beside bus stops, and (allegedly) ordering a bowl of vegan chili at Tommy’s on Coventry while disguised as an old woman with a stolen purse.

No one’s ever gotten a clear answer on his name, his Kith (strong guesses abound to his being a Pooka), or even his seeming. Some have tried, of course—but the stories usually end with the interviewer waking up in a tree two counties over or returning home with a cryptic note stitched into their clothing that reads “Too slow, try again.”

The White Rabbit is a symbol of subversion, spectacle, and strategic nonsense. He is remembered as a trickster, protector, and utterly unreliable narrator of his own adventures. Whether guardian, saboteur, or tall tale come to life, the White Rabbit remains one of Cleveland’s most enduring urban legends—yet more than one Changeling swears they owe their life to him.

Known Rumors and Appearances

• The Crownless Year: Multiple eyewitnesses place a white rabbit at key turning points of both Vahr's Black March and the chaotic events of The Smoke and Snow. A Sidhe noblewoman claimed “the creature commanded birds, bugs, and beasts alike.” She was later seen frantically scrubbing pigeon droppings from her gown.
• Lakefront Nature Preserve: The White Rabbit is widely believed to be the true master of the Lakefront Nature Preserve nearby woods and marshes. Locals say the very gulls take orders from him, and once a squirrel-led blockade turned back an entire Arcadian Sidhe scouting party.
• The Board: Wild speculation claims the Rabbit may have been involved with an apocryphal cohort called "The Board," though no formal record has ever acknowledged his role or the nature of said "board."
