Valonism

Ethics

The basic tenants of Valonism are respect for nature and the structure of society. Everyday practitioners are expected to obey people religiously higher up in rank and to

Worship

The traditional practice of worship was to meet in a congregation lad by a Val ( someone with greater access to Val or potential) where the Val would share out their potential with the people and grant them access to the potential for their own use. While at home a worshiper would pray to a shrine that was a tap for the natural potential in the area and gain some power.
Upon the fall of the empire and the collapse of natural potential this practice became the leaders of the ceremony giving out physical aid or work of those they commanded, ie, a lord would come down to the villages and offer money or the services of his men to help repair a barn. The practice of peasants preying at shrines at home still continued and would often be carved in representations of the villages Val or even the Emperor himself. People came to expect a lord to offer Potential to their villages and if they did not they were looked on very badly. This tradition continued up the rank ladder, from peasant to mayor to lord to duke to emperor, each would be expected to give help to those bellow them.

Priesthood

The priests are called Val’s and they are the spiritual and economical leaders of their congregation, the Val is almost always a lord or mayor who governs an area of a few villages. The title of Val is not always the governor however and can be given to anyone who practices the tradition of giving potential, to become a Val one must receive a sponsor from someone already a Val or higher ranked with in the church. Most lords and governors apply for sponsorship to become a Val as soon as possible as it grants a different level of authority, however it come with the requirement to help the people under you.
