Elves
In the wasteland, high elves have long since disappeared. Some say that they all died out during the Flood, but others postulate that they fled across the Dune Sea.
The high elven kingdom of Athra (ah-thra) once constituted the lands that have now become the Alawhazi Marshes. It was a land of great magic and scholars, and its ruins continue to be of interest to archaeologists today. The aarakocra monks of the Ngari Mountains are particularly interested in the secrets of Athra, and they often fund expeditions into the marshes in search of forgotten lore.
The wood elves of the pre-Flood world have become known as "wild elves." They live on the open plains of Gutrope, hunting and living with the rhythms of nature. Their way of life is brutal and unforgiving, leading wild elves to develop stoic, cold views of the world.
The most prosperous sect of elves today is the drow, who emerged from the Underdark post-Flood, laying claim to vast tracts of land, including the verdant Silk Cradle . Their empire is founded on the backs of slaves, and they worship the Demon-Goddess Lloth, the Spider Queen. The capital city of the drow is Cheth Driesad, a vast city that sprawls above and below ground.
