Yolena Emari

The current matriarch of the Emarian Moors, Yolena Emari, is said to be over 700 years old, a staggering age by any measure, and is the central figure in both the mystique and the fear surrounding the Emari family. Yolena has discovered a dark, unnatural secret that allows her to extend her life beyond natural limits, making her a political and magical force in Sangrithar. . Sylvan magic is the official primary explanation—the idea that she draws upon the very life force of the Moors to maintain her youth. Many, however, whisper of a darker secret: that Yolena has unlocked forbidden Necrotic magic, perhaps using the dead or the corpses of ancient enemies to feed her power.

Yolena rules with an iron fist, demanding absolute loyalty from both their own citizens and the Unsparked she controls. There is little room for dissent within the Emarian Moors, and the people are raised to revere the Matriarch as a near-divine figure.

Whatever the truth, Yolena's long reign has been marked by an iron grip on the Moors and a violent subjugation of both the Unsparked and those who would defy the Emarian vision of primal (and necrotic) power. Resistance movements often spring up in the fringes of Emarian society, but they are systematically eradicated by Yolena’s loyalists, which include not only her elite warriors but also her access to a rumored mysterious necromantic army—a force of undead soldiers she can call upon when needed. Yolena's long presence in Sangrithar's affairs has caused her to both be feared and reviled by other nations, but few dare to challenge her authority inside the Moors.

Bloodline Powers:

• Sylvan Authority: Yolena has had hundreds of years to understand the depth of Sylvan magic and her mastery of it is unsurpassed within the Moors itself. Yolena's ability to entrap, extend, ensnare, and exterminate using the natural dangers of the swamp are utilized often against any foolish enough to enter. Her bloodline granted her the ability to manipulate natural elements to such a degree that she has the ability to alter entire landscapes. Yolena's powers are less effective in mountainous regions where stone tends to resister her manipulations
• Necromantic Longevity: However much Sylvan power Yolena possesses, it pales in comparison to her Nercomantic abilities. One of the few to flaunt her skills and usage of the long forbidden craft, Yolena's Class V-defining bloodline powers have enabled her to stretch her life centuries. No-one knows if it is true immortality, but the reality is, her place and power within the Emarian Moors seems unimpeachable.
• Necromantic Unlike: Nearly as powerful as her longevity is Yolena's ability to call on undead armies. Yolena's use of The Threnai both in their Yuri filled rages in life is extended as she calls them forth from the grave in times of warfare. This ability alone keeps most countries who might otherwise want to eliminate the Moors, from attempting military matters against the Emarians.
